Joseph (Joe) Cohen advises clients in litigation/claims and leads special projects. Joe has 20 years of experience in investigation and prevention as an ergonomist and safety consultant. Joe is a published authority with a record of service to national organizations such as the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society and the Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics. He has testified as an expert witness in California Superior Court and Nevada District courts. 

Joe’s formal education includes a B.A. in Psychology from UC Riverside, a M.A. in Psychology (human factors and applied-experimental option) from Cal State Northridge, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Alliant International University, San Diego (with honors). He is a Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE), Certified Hazard Control Manager (CHCM), and Certified XL Tribometrist (CXLT).

Cindy’s research and consulting activities include but are not limited to pedestrian safety, ladders, and warnings and risk communications. She has authored or co-authored several peer-reviewed writings on pedestrian falls. She is a co-author of the book, Slips, Trips, Missteps and their Consequences (Second Edition) by Lawyers & Judges Publishing Company. Cindy began her career as a software quality engineer with General Dynamics in San Diego, CA, later shifting her emphasis to human factors engineering with companies Safety Sciences, Inc. and Cohen & Associates prior to her current role as Senior Consultant with EAI.

Cindy holds a B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from The Ohio State University with an emphasis in Human Factors Engineering and an M.S. in Systems Management from the USC. She is a member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society. Cindy is a Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) and a Certified XL Tribometrist (CXLT).

H. Harvey Cohen formed Error Analysis, Inc. to further the practice of ergonomics and safety after an early career at NASA, NIOSH, and Safety Sciences. Dr. Cohen sought practitioners with specialized expertise in behavioral science and engineering that could describe the complex nature of causation in major incidents and catastrophes from a human factors perspective. Retired from active practice, Dr. Cohen continues his service to non-profit professional boards and domestic and international standards committees. His ongoing work also includes publication of various book, book chapter and scientific articles.
