Human Factors

Human factors is a multi-disciplinary field grounded in the behavioral and engineering sciences.  It is primarily concerned with the 'interfaces' between people, products, and environments of use.  Human Factors methods are commonly employed to determine the cause and means for the prevention of human error.  Human Factors is also known as Ergonomics or Human Factors Engineering and is commonly referred to as such by industries throughout the world.

The field also defines the capabilities and limitations of people.  The knowledge gleaned is then applied to a variety of settings, from complex, demanding occupations to simple everyday systems and products, focusing on the human factors in their design, construction, maintenance, and use.

All Error Analysis consultants are active members of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES).
